Is cybersecurity becoming an increasing concern?
As the number of connected devices on the plant floor grows, so does access to the data from those devices. Without the proper secure network devices in place, increases in access to your data can increase your network vulnerability to cyber-threats. The EDS-500E series switches support Moxa’s “Security View”*, which can help you to audit the security settings level of your Moxa switch, and can help you to easily correct misconfigured security settings based on the desired security level. Moxa offers two different options to help with seamless recovery for mission-critical applications. Moxa’s Turbo Ring technology allows networks to recover within 20ms* with up to 250 nodes. For applications that already have a redundant ring technology, but need to add segments with recovery times in the milliseconds, Moxa’s Turbo Chain offers unlimited redundant network expansion with under 20ms recovery times. Both of these technologies take only seconds to set up and deliver seamless recovery with zero data loss. The EDS-500E series switches can also have their configuration files backed up and saved for fast and easy restoration in the event of misconfiguration or catastrophic events*.

We’re excited to announce the addition of our new ProSense PLS series rotary paddle level switches to our already extensive line of process control solutions. These level switches are used as point level switches for dry, granular bulk solids, and are ideal for detecting full, empty, refill, or point level status in silos, hoppers, and bins containing bulk solids. Examples of products that can be sensed by rotary paddle level switches include cereals, sugar, animal feeds, washing powders, chalk dry plaster, dry cement, granulates, wood chips, and similar products. These level switches are available in three different shaft lengths, plus a rope version that can be shortened in the field based on the application.
AutomationDirect has added T-Slotted hardware components by FATH. Because the structures are lightweight, economical and easy to construct, slotted aluminum rail structures are commonly seen throughout many industries. From stands that hold barcode scanners and label applicator machines to OEM machines made entirely of T-slotted aluminum rail, this structure system is very popular. We have a wide variety of assembly hardware for T-slotted aluminum rail systems in various widths from 1 inch to 1.5 inch and 30mm to 45mm, which include T-nuts, fasteners, connecting components, joining plates and brackets, as well as floor, door and panel elements. These components are compatible with many brands. These FATH T-slot hardware products are all stock items, so they can be shipped quickly and have a 2-year warranty.
IDEM hazardous area safety devices provide similar functionality to their general-purpose counterparts but offer explosion-proof switching for use in hazardous locations. All of these devices are manufactured with ATEX Exd IIC T6 certified explosion-proof contact blocks which are encapsulated to contain explosions and prevent ignition of hazardous materials. New IDEM explosion-proof safety devices include tongue interlock safety switches, safety limit switches and safety cable-pull switches. These devices are an excellent choice for use in the oil, chemical, pharmaceutical and other hazardous industries. AutomationDirect has also extended its existing line of general-purpose safety cable-pull switches. This new line extension allows for emergency cable lengths of up to 250 meters. IDEM safety devices have a 1-year warranty.
AutomationDirect announces the addition of new temperature probes, sensors and thermowells to our existing portfolio of ProSense sensors. We have added 4 different types of probe designs and 3 sensor designs to meet the needs of unique applications. These new probes include heat trace probes; flange mount probes; cuttable probes; and melt bolt probes. The new temperature sensor designs being offered include; threaded bolt style; spade sensors; and magnet mount sensors. All of these probes and sensors are offered in type J thermocouple sensing elements. Type K thermocouple elements and PT100 RTD with class A accuracy are also offered with select series. A new line of thermowells have been added that are used specifically for sanitary Clean-in-Place applications and probes that have a tri-clamp process connection. These new ProSense temperature sensing products are proudly made in the USA and have an eighteen-month warranty.
